FPGA Developer (23708)
A great opportunity for an experienced FPGA Developer to join an established, profitable and growing company developing innovative solutions for financial sector clients worldwide.
Our client's core business is in the US, with expansion into Asian and European markets. You will join a small team of FPGA Developers working to deliver accelerated market data to our client’s customers. You’ll be involved in design, simulation and testing of market leading solutions. You will also take some responsibility for extending their automated simulation, build and testing system, which is an integral part of the development process.
You will need to be self starting and able to work both independently and within the team.
Our client uses VHDL for design and simulation, ModelSim as a simulation tool, Quartus and QSys for building, plus bash, tcl and Python for their testing automation. But they recognise that these are just tools. The right candidate will understand the underlying concepts of hardware language design and adapt to the tool chain available, so the ability to learn rapidly is a great asset. However, knowledge of financial markets is not necessary.
Essential skills:
- Understand the principles of hardware language design and fluent in an RTL language (VHDL preferred)
- Experience of writing self checking simulations and using an RTL simulator
- Experience of multi-clock domain FPGA or ASIC design, including experience of timing analysis
- Some exposure to scripting
Based in pleasant, modern offices in central Cambridge, this is a 'meritocracy' so your personal contribution will be recognised and rewarded. A competitive starting salary and bonus based on personal performance is on offer for the right candidate.
