Research Engineer - Automation / Robotics (23846)

This recently assembled Edinburgh team is the latest arm of this ambitious machine learning engineering company. They are expanding their capabilities, and are growing a world-leading team of experts in robotics and autonomy in spatial awareness. Key areas they are researching include computer vision based applications of large scale image / video datasets.

Requirements:

• Strong academic background (ideally including a relevant PhD) in computer science, maths or engineering.
• Strong understanding of spatial data structures and algorithms for vector maths, geometry and image processing.
• Significant experience with C++, Java and / or Python (ideally not just for numerical programming but also for version controlled professional applied code).

All above points are required. Furthermore, interested candidates should be: interested in applying theory to real-world applied problems; passionate about new technology and machine learning; and ideally experience in mapping, GIS or similar.
