Research Engineer - Localisation and Mapping (24173)
Our client is seeking a smart and motivated Research Engineer who will develop and experiment with state-of-the-art algorithms applied to sensor vision and LIDAR data. A key part of the role will be to implement the algorithms; hence you must be fluent in modern C++.
Working with a dynamic team of engineers and scientists from the worlds of robotics, mechatronics, AI and computer vision and simulation, this is a superb opportunity to work on exciting green field development. The projects are intellectually stimulating and would suit those candidates with a genuine desire for innovative thought.
You will hold a relevant undergraduate degree from a highly ranked world-class university and, ideally, a postgraduate degree in a field such as computer science, robotics, maths or engineering. The team in Cambridge liaise with professors and scientists from the foremost institutions.
Alongside this minimum education qualification you will be able to demonstrate the following:-
- Fluency in modern C++, particularly within a large software project
- Being abreast of the latest research in landmark-based localisation
- Excellent understanding of probabilistic modelling
- Experience of the full software development lifecycle
In addition, the following would be of interest:
- Machine learning for vision
- ROS
