Principal Developer, Video Game Animation (24179)
Do you work in video games, or would you like to? If you’ve expertise with C++ software development and sufficient knowledge of real time animation, opportunities are available at Senior and Principal Developer level.
You’ll need extensive practical C++ coding skills and animation systems experience. You’ll have a good degree in computer science or a related subject from a top university and full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.
In terms of animation, the focus is on real-time GPU-assisted character animation and so the following fundamentals will be deeply familiar, in order of ascending complexity: matrices and quaternions (affine transforms), bone hierarchies and bone weights, export (Maya / 3DS Max), skinning (CPU and GPU).
To principal level, you will have demonstrable understanding of many of: animation pipelines, automata, state transitions, blend hierarchies, decision systems, workflow, advanced tools development (for animators, C++ or C#) and technical leadership.
