Materials Engineer (Optical Coatings) (24260)
Starting as a philanthropic initiative, our client has grown over its 10 year plus history to be a pioneering product development company. Their technology area is applied to optical lenses, and they seek a Materials Engineer to lead new projects in materials development. The position is a mixture of hands-on materials science, system modelling, customer-contact and close working with the prototyping and manufacture teams.
Requirements:
- Masters in Physical Chemistry, Material Science or Nanotechnology related to optics. Strong preference for a PhD holder in a relevant subject area.
- Project experience working on optical elastomers or optical coatings. Knowledge of urethane or siloxane chemistry would be highly beneficial.
- Broad materials analysis experience including systems modelling using MATLAB. Experience with opto-mechanical properties would be useful.
- Additional experience with LabVIEW, FEA analysis or CAD packages would be desirable.
Good communication skills and the flexibility to travel overseas on occasion are required.
