Consultant Engineer (Structural Mechanics) (24282)
Are you completing your Masters or PhD and looking for a technical role that has lots of people contact? We’re looking for a bright, personable engineer / physicist to join this growing Cambridge based team. In this role, you’ll be a central point-of-contact for leading engineering and scientific companies, working as a specialised expert in structural mechanics as well as providing broader knowledge on other applied engineering.
Requirements:
- Strong academic background including A grade at A-level maths, 1st / 2.1 first degree in engineering, physics or similar, and an advanced degree (Masters or PhD).
- Project experience in finite element analysis and numerical methods in solid / structural mechanics. Experience in 2 or more areas of: plasticity and viscoelasticity; fatigue and nonlinear structural dynamics; electromechanical modelling; and / or fluid-structure interactions.
- Demonstrable problem solving skills (including understanding of first principles).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
NB: preference is for applicants already based in the UK. No company sponsorship is available.
