Tools and Systems Developer (24504)

You’ll need a good degree in computing or the sciences from a reputable university, plus commercial software engineering experience; or very extensive relevant personal projects in addition to university coding projects.
You will have extensive software development experience in either Python, C#, C++, PHP, JavaScript, Ruby or Perl. You'll also be happy to discuss requirements with stakeholders to produce great software.
Your practical project experience will particularly show most of:
- Programs communicating (RESTful web services, IPC, RPC, sockets)
- An understanding of Linux (preferred) or Windows, including programmatic use of processes and threads, synchronisation primitives and avoiding deadlocks
- Knowledge of internet protocols, especially HTTP as used for web services
- SQL queries and some database design for relational databases
Additional experience of the following is beneficial: AWS or other cloud solutions, Docker / containers, web frameworks.
