Engineering Scientist (Microfluidics) (25039)
This is an ambitious, exciting role in a high-performance environment where you can design and develop novel microfluidic systems for ground-breaking life-science and medical-diagnostic instruments. Projects will include optimisation of prototype chips, improving the steady-state laminar-flow technology, and performance evaluation of the chips to ensure high accuracy and precision of products.
Requirements:
- PhD in natural sciences or physics (or degree plus 3+ years’ relevant post-graduate experience).
- Demonstrable experience with microfluidic device design (ideally for scientific instruments) – focus on precision and accuracy rather than speed.
- Experience with modelling tools including CAD or FEA software.
This is a multidisciplinary team, so good problem solving and communication skills are expected. Further, whilst the application area is for commercial products, there is still a strong R&D vibe with the engineering / scientific teams, so writing and reviewing scientific papers would be part of the deliverables.
In return, an excellent remuneration package is available including career support and development.
