Hands-on Automation Tester and Mentor (25122)
An approachable, skilled, automation tester, who takes pride in producing quality, reliable systems, is sought by a well-established, international company with offices in Cambridge.
Our client is a leader in the field of Big Data management and as such, automated testing is an important part of their technology. To ensure the continued improvement of their software, they work in cross functional teams, utilising continuous integration in an Agile environment.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on tester, well-versed in Java, automated testing tools and the testing of distributed systems. They will be happy to share their knowledge with junior members of the team and they will have the skills and experience to improve the test automation infrastructure within a continuous delivery environment.

Minimum experience and skills necessary for this role:
- Deep knowledge of Java
- Good experience of testing within an Agile, continuous delivery environment, using tools such as: Jenkins or Hudson, TeamCity, Git, Maven and Gradle
- Good experience in database testing and the use of automated testing tools such as JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, RestAssured, SoapUI, as well as requirement analysis and testing of distributed systems
Skills and experience that will help you stand out:
- The ability and confidence to train and mentor more junior colleagues
- A background and understanding of non-functional testing (e.g. performance testing or security testing) and familiarity with the configuration and deployment of distributed systems
- Exposure to scripting languages (JavaScript / TypeScript / Ruby) would also be an advantage
