Head of Biologics (25603)

Having proven their scientific concepts, this spin-out company has received further investment to expand and exploit their proprietary technology. The scientific team have hands-on expertise and knowledge, but as the company expands, they seek a lead figure to direct overall projects in the design, development and deployment of genetic based diagnostic assays. This will include providing oversight for validation and verification of protocols, action quality controls for product development including relevant documentation, and be responsible for regulatory standards adherence and scientific publications of results.

Requirements:

• Strong academic background (likely including a PhD) in human molecular biology, biochemistry or similar.
• Extensive commercial experience including prior experience as a hands-on development scientist in molecular diagnostic assay development, and currently a senior scientist leading and delivering projects to market. Will have gone through and understand the processes of design controls, and validated regulated diagnostic products.
• Extensive technical knowledge in molecular biology, analytical validation and relevant study design.
• Experience in developing a variety of assay development products concurrently.

As a scientific leader, you will be accustomed to work within a senior management team as well as leading well-qualified scientists. You'll be able to give highly technical critiques of scientific work and provide presentations to all levels. You may have experience in a start-up and will therefore understand how to work in a dynamic environment on multiple projects. You will know when to push people for results and how to pull people up to higher standards.
