Client-facing Senior QA Engineer (25700)

This senior role combines proactively identifying and investigating software issues within a system that distributes market-leading data products to a widely dispersed and varied clientele. As the engineer responsible for investigating and where possible pre-empting service quality issues, you would work in collaboration with your colleagues and the client's engineers to track down root causes of defects and identify remedies as well as deploying software updates and assisting with the launch of new devices and services.

This role calls for a highly experienced, self-motivated, and self-sufficient QA engineer with hands-on experience working with embedded systems. You will be at ease interacting clients, and be able to quickly develop a deep understanding of their system. You will be self-motivated and investigative by nature, drawing upon your experience and creativity to unpick problems and identify the underlying cause of symptoms.

Your CV should evidence the following:

• A good degree in Computer Science or a similarly applicable subject from a well-recognised university
• Extensive experience in software quality assurance - not simply executing test plans, but developing system expertise to allow you to reproduce and investigate hard-to-provoke error conditions within embedded systems.
• Adept using the Linux command line, scripting with Python (C is a bonus), manual exploratory testing, as well as a good understanding of software engineering and an ability to communicate on a technical level with software engineers and clients.
• Full existing right to work in the UK without restriction, time limit or sponsorship.
