Experimental Physicist (25814)
Our client is looking for an experienced Experimental Physicist to join their team to design and build experiments producing fusion-relevant plasmas to further progress towards fusion power production. In this cutting-edge environment, the experienced Experimental Physicist will develop novel custom designs to enable higher densities and temperatures to be analysed. The successful candidate also requires a good theoretical background in high-energy density physics to enable close working with the in-house simulation team and external academic collaborators.
To contribute successfully to this existing highly-qualified team, you will have the following attributes:
- Post-doc or PhD level physics (or similar) together with a good first degree from a top-ranked university
- Experience in experimental physics research, preferably in the area of plasma related diagnostics (optical or particle probing)
- Enthusiasm and desire to work in a dynamic real-world team environment
- Understanding of computational simulation e.g. shock physics, high energy density physics models
This young and dynamic company is well-funded and offers a friendly working setting close to Oxford. In return, you will receive a competitive salary with excellent benefits and work with a talented team of physicists and engineers on cutting-edge development.
