Technical consultancy in structural engineering modelling

This role is to join a Cambridge based technical team working with clients in industry and academia. The team provides technical expertise on complex modelling for physics and engineering. This role would suit someone who is able to demonstrate proof-of-principle studies as well as orally convey highly numerate solutions to all levels of audiences.

Requirements:

  • Strong academic background including A grade at A-level maths, 1st / 2.1 first degree in engineering, physics or similar, and an advanced degree (Masters or PhD).
  • Project experience in finite element analysis and numerical methods in solid / structural mechanics. Experience in 2 or more areas of: plasticity and viscoelasticity; fatigue and nonlinear structural dynamics; electromechanical modelling; and / or fluid-structure interactions.
  • Demonstrable problem solving skills (including understanding of first principles).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preference is for applicants already based in the UK. No company sponsorship is available.
