Software Test Engineer - Embedded (25895)
This start-up seeks a Software Test Engineer that understands embedded systems. It is development testing so familiarity with configuring and downloading code onto an embedded device is vital. You will be working with embedded Linux. This role also involves hands on creation and testing of audio recordings.
While much of your time can be spent working from home (at present) you will need to be close enough to Cambridge to be able to get into the office to exchange hardware or resolve an issue on the bench.
You will be working alongside talented and bright software engineers; to be able to hold your own it is expected you will have a technical degree. It is likely you have been a Software Test Engineer previously and be able to demonstrate the following:
- Excellent knowledge of Linux especially Debian platforms
- Good test automation skills probably using Python
- Confidence with Jenkins or similar CI/CD server
- Exposure to embedded environments
You need to be familiar with embedded Linux and concurrent software design. You will possess a broad knowledge of commercial software environments, including exposure to continuous integration and software release cycles.
