Lead Software Developer, Energy (26014)
This is a great opportunity to bring your skills in software development within the UK electricity markets and take a lead role within this company as a senior technical member of staff. As well as a highly competitive remuneration package, there are potential share options on offer to reflect the pivotal nature of this role.
We are looking for a technically confident Software Developer to lead and implement projects in the development of the client’s asset optimisation platform. The client has a successful existing suite of tools and systems and the Lead Software Developer will enjoy the freedom to develop these systems further, working with customers to optimise the return on their energy assets. To this end, a knowledge of the intricacies of the UK electricity supply market is essential.
A typical project will be to design and develop tools used by energy traders to optimise energy assets, providing short-term balancing to maintain steady energy supplies when conditions fluctuate. The Lead Software Developer will liaise with energy customers, energy traders and energy regulators to devise new systems.
Technology-wise, the platform runs on AWS with React on the front-end and using Python, C# and R for back-end services.
Requirements:
- Good academic background with a degree in computer science, maths, physics or similar.
- Existing experience with the UK electricity markets.
- Will consider themselves a Full-Stack developer and know their way around front-end or back-end development well (possibly be highly competent in both).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
- Ability to lead projects, make decisions and generate new ideas.
