Video Streaming Network Engineer (26076)
Are you a self-starter with knowledge of networks and video streaming? Working for a top media events company, in this role you'll set up networks and live broadcasts for a company's prestigious client product launches.
This opportunity could suit both graduate and more experienced engineers. You will be based at company offices in a village just south of Cambridge, so you'll need to drive to work. Expenses-paid travel will be a key part of the role, both within the UK and worldwide.
You will:
- Have full UK work permission, good commercial or personal experience and a positive, self-starting attitude.
- Know your way around Windows/Linux IP network setup (cabling, routers, switches, ports and port forwarding, packet filtering, QoS and prioritisation, TCP/IP and UDP, security and authentication, LAN / WLAN and VPN).
- A power user's knowledge of video streaming technology and streaming services, including managing quality issues and handling failover.
You may know live broadcast software suites such as OBS Studio or XSplit and have experience broadcasting with YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch and/or other social media video streaming. It's likely you'll be familiar with common video formats (MPEG-4, WebM, Ogg) and video transcoding (e.g. ffmpeg).
A competitive salary is on offer in this full time role. In addition, free travel accommodations are sometimes at top hotels (Park Lane and worldwide equivalents).
