Electronics / Physicist (26115)
This company is seeking a Physicist with strong electronic design skills, such that you are able to get a handle on the whole solution. The design of a sensor is an effective way to describe the type of work carried out. Projects may include sensor design, and other comparable interesting challenges.
Your career path to this role is probably a Physics degree, and then perhaps a PhD. Ideally you have progressed into industry via full-time work or internships, where you have completed several commercial electronics designs, though some electronics during your PhD could be an alternative. However, these have always required you to go back to fundamental physics to progress with the design.
This is an ideal opportunity to join a consultancy and rapidly expand your design skill set. You will need to demonstrate a strong academic background from a world leading university in a physical science subject, and be able to convince this client you have a solid understanding of electronics.
This position is within a mixed discipline team; this is an excellent opportunity to develop leading edge designs for the most demanding end products. This consultancy takes concepts to reality, working through the entire product development life-cycle. You will be given responsibility, and strive to solve challenging problems with a variety of work that allows high performers to progress quickly.
It is preferred if you are able to obtain UK security clearance for the occasional project, whilst most don't require this such as the healthcare ones.
