Physicist - Applied Engineering (26233)
Due to expansion of the company and growth of the technical team, an experimental Physicist is wanted to join an applied engineering team. In this role, you would take responsibility for testing instrumentation in breadboard and prototype form, optimising the systems and troubleshooting problems. You'll work closely with other science teams to provide input into overall designs for droplet manipulation systems. Further, you'll develop verification and validation tests / experiments to optimise performance.
The technical teams may work on separate facets of the same project, so good communications are needed to work collaboratively and support one another in regards to deadlines and overall technology development.
Requirements:
- 1st / 2.1 degree in Physics, and possibly an advanced degree (Masters or PhD).
- Demonstrable experience in experimental physics projects in: optics and optoelectronics; microfluidic technologies; or mechatronics and motion control. Experience with prototyping and breadboards would be desirable.
- Experience in testing technologies through experiments including validation and verification.
- Strong communication skills and appreciation of team-based problem-solving.
