Applied Engineering Software Developer (26300)
This established software team are looking for their next hire. They work with clever mathematical software algorithms that allows engineering companies search through libraries to identify 3D shapes. This increases efficiencies in the business and development cycles, and helps companies deliver solutions quickly and to budget.
As their next hire, you’ll be working with a collaborative team and build up your responsibilities in project specifications, design, implementation and testing. You’ll need to analyse different algorithms, and design software that best uses these and be robust enough to capture edge cases. You’ll ensure the quality of software being produced meets the high expectations from their customers.
Requirements:
- 1st / 2.1 in Computer Science, Applied Maths or similar from a well-ranked UK university (or equivalent). A relative Masters or PhD would be a bonus.
- Demonstrable programming experience (industry or extensive projects) with Java or C++. Other mainstream OO languages may be considered.
- The ability to understand mathematical shapes and parameters (this could be through projects with graphics algorithms, computer vision, computation geometry or similar). Any exposure to CAD systems would be desirable.
- Strong numerate problem-solving skills.
