Applications Biophysicist (26388)

This Cambridge based scientific instrumentation company is expanding their Applications team and is looking to recruit a Biophysicist / Experimental Physicist to join them. Their key technologies provide their customers a powerful platform for cell biology and drug discovery.

In this role, the Applications Biophysicist will: test instrumentation; perform technical troubleshooting and optimisation; conduct experiments in collaboration with biologists; develop assay methodologies and analyse results; contribute to pilot trials; and help deliver key project milestones.

Requirements:

• 1st or 2.1 degree in Biophysics, Experimental Physics or similar. An advanced degree is a bonus.
• Demonstrable experience in optics, microfluidics or instrument based assay development.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
• Further experience of optical imaging systems, biochemistry, or instrumentation technical support would be beneficial.

Due to where customers are based, the role requires both UK and international travel (up to 20%) and so being a valid passport holder is required. Similarly, it is expected that interested applicants also hold a valid driving licence (UK or international).
