Applying your embedded skills to a broad range of projects

In this Embedded Linux role you would be working for a technology-driven company on a diverse range of projects. These could involve solving problems in healthcare, consumer electronics, aerospace, the IoT, or anywhere where increasingly capable hardware can benefit from the power and flexibility of Linux-based software. For instance, you could be helping build new sensing capabilities, smart networking technologies, robotic systems, medical devices, satellite technologies, or autonomous transport solutions, just to name a few.

This would be a great opportunity for an embedded Linux engineer wishing to broaden their technical and consultancy skills.

You will need:

  • A 1st or 2.1 degree (and preferably an advanced degree) in a relevant STEM subject such as Computer Science or Electronics
  • Demonstrably excellent coding skills in C or C++ for embedded Linux applications
  • A solid understanding of commercial software engineering best practice
  • Confident communication skills – happy to discuss technical concepts with clients of various levels of detail

Experience in the following would enhance your application:

  • Experience in setting up build systems using Yocto and Devicetree
  • User Space device drivers
  • Python
