ECM Consultant (26571)

ECM Selection are recruiting and are looking for new Consultants to join the ECM team. Our Consultants’ profiles are quite varied, but have a common thread of having a background (degree qualified) in engineering (electronics, mechanical or software), science (physics, chemistry or biology) or mathematics.

ECM Consultants enjoy varied work and are given independence whilst collaborating with colleagues. A knowledge of technology is expected but more important is general interest and good aptitude to pick things up. Further soft skills that are used are time-management (working to deadlines, coordinating with others); communication skills (speaking to others – this is a consultancy role after all, and documentation); relationship building (empathy when talking to people, business development with clients); and IT skills (use of in-house software tools, MS Office, databases, emails).

Full training would be provided, and new Consultants will be supported in their career.

So who could be interested?

• You may be looking to return to work after time away from your career in engineering or science.
• You may be at a crossroads in your current career (in engineering or science) and decided to be more hands-off and have a change in career-direction.
• You may have studied an engineering or scientific subject, and then developed a broader interest in the business side of technology (perhaps a Master’s) rather than execution.
• You could be a graduates or PhD who want a different type of career away from a lab.

Consultants work at ECM’s offices based just outside of Cambridge. Once the probation period is completed, some home working is possible (1 day per week). There is flexible working around core hours to accommodate people’s own preferences. Remunerations consist of a base salary and a commission structure that is unlimited.
