Quant Analyst in Consultancy (26662)
Are you completing your Master's, or beginning to write up your PhD? You may already be working, but sense a new career direction is in order?
This centrally based Cambridge consultancy are looking to recruit highly-able and adaptable, numerically-gifted individuals to join them. You would work with them initially as an analyst with the goals to progress into a full consultant role. The projects are very applied, using real-world data to produce sophisticated and complex models based on statistical inference and quantitative analysis. Projects are with companies based around the world, so opportunities to travel would be expected (this can be up to 25% of your time – either day trips if within Europe, or week-long trips if further afield).

- Top academic qualifications – you’ll have A*s in A-level Maths, Physics and Further Maths (or similar). You’ll subsequently have studied maths, physics or similar at a top ranked university, and currently be in your final year (expecting a 1st class degree). If you have graduated, you’ll already have a 1st class degree, and you may be completing a relevant PhD or working in an analytical role.
- Demonstrable project experience in maths modelling using statistical analysis and techniques such as statistical inference or Bayesian statistics.
- Familiarity working with qualitative data and turning this into numerical information.
- An interest in financial models would be beneficial.
- Fluency in a second modern language (French, Spanish or German).
As this is a consultancy, top communication skills are needed. Bonus points are given to those with relevant internship experience in a management consultancy or similar, or taking a senior role within a university club or society engaged with outreach.
The role would start in autumn 2023. Note, this is not a graduate scheme.
