Due to continued expansion, the opportunity to join a successful Cambridge based company working on ways to improve energy distribution has arisen.
The company uses machine learning to analyse complex electricity market data in order to make the distribution of energy more equitable and efficient throughout power grids in countries across the world.
Skilled Data Engineers are sought to assist in the design and optimisation of their cloud platform and data pipelines. Working alongside machine learning scientists and joining an established team of Data Engineers, they will play an important part in the staging and development of the AWS infrastructure, capturing technical requirements, building data pipelines and delivering solutions to the team, whilst keeping the company’s wider goals in mind. It is an Agile environment, using serverless architecture, as well as continuous development and integration.
The friendly team work to a hybrid model, however they do meet in the Cambridge office regularly so the role would not be completely remote.
To be considered for this role you will need a majority of the following attributes:
- A good degree (2.1 or above) in a technical subject such as Computer Science, Physics or Maths from a well-respected university
- Established skills in either Python or Julia
- Good familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS RDS for PostgresSQL
- Serverless architecture, AWS CloudFormation
- Experience of Continuous Development and / or Continuous Integration
Full right to work in the UK without time limit or sponsorship will also be required.
