Developing medical devices used for neurological applications

Many long-term ailments and disorders are results of impairments to the brain or nervous system. Modern medical approaches can tackle and assist through neurointervention or neurostimulation devices. Our client is a multidisciplinary team who develop such devices and are looking for a Senior / Lead Electronics Device Researcher to help them create and develop breakthrough medical products that can (fully or partially) alleviate conditions that include chronic pain, epilepsy, sleep apnoea and neurodegenerative diseases (such as Parkinson’s).

Innovations they create are impactful and solve real problems. They use a collaborative approach to create a device that actually works rather than a hypothetical idea. The role would therefore use technical engineering skills and knowledge in electronics, applied to human anatomy and diseases. This in turn requires strong communication skills, as the role will involve a number of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Graduated with an electronics engineering degree and probably have a relevant PhD as well.
  • Extensive post-doctoral or equivalent industry experience working on neurostimulation medical devices (this could include RF technologies used in chronic pain or implantable pulse generators (IPG) to block abnormal nerve signals).
  • Experience with Class 3 medical implant devices and associated medical regulations and standards.

On offer is an excellent opportunity to further your career and continue to make an impact on the world with your ideas and innovations. In return, and excellent remunerations package is available including a wide range of benefits. For qualifying applicants, relocation expenses are available.
