Mechanical Design Engineer (26708)

An innovative Cambridge technology company is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join them in their quest to realise new ideas in biomedical applications. Your skills would help turn concepts into working inventions that will improve lives through better instrumentation, diagnostics, therapies, and medical devices. You will be a key part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside colleagues from the biological sciences and engineering disciplines to create industry leading concepts and designs.

It is expected that you will have a strong academic background with a degree in design engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar, and substantial experience with design of mechanical jigs and components. You will be able both to sketch concepts and create detailed schematics in CAD, and be confident in discussing complex concepts with both colleagues and clients.

Key skills and attributes:

• A 1st or 2.1 in Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related subject from a leading university
• Experience with sophisticated, high accuracy mechanical components and devices, and a thorough understanding of manufacturing techniques such as injection moulding.
• Hands-on skills in CAD (preferably SolidWorks), renderings, hand-drawn sketches. A portfolio of your previous work will showcase your abilities.
• Full existing right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
