Data Scientist (26724)
With varied projects and high-tech engineering to work on, this client-facing role will provide you with plenty of interesting challenges. You could be working on radars (terrestrial or satellite-based), sonar, robotics, computer vision systems, medical devices, drones, IoT, and navigation to name a few.
You would play a key role in creating and evaluating algorithms (including for machine learning), and devising numerical models for use in various systems and products. You would be involved throughout the development process, discussing concepts with customers, carrying out simulation and prototyping, evaluating and evolving algorithms, and integrating them with the broader system under development.
Essential skills and experience
- A strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, or other numerate STEM subject, with a 1st or 2.1 from a top university
- A substantial track record of developing, implementing, and evaluating algorithms
- Coding skills in Python or MATLAB
- Experience in areas such as DSP, AI/ML, image processing, or numerical simulation
- Full existing right to work in the UK and the ability to obtain a UK security clearance
Hands-on analysis of data for radar, sonar, or imaging systems would be advantageous, but is not essential
