Lab Manufacturing Technician (26740)
Help a high-tech device company ramp up their production. As a Manufacturing Technician you’ll apply your knowledge of high-tech manufacturing equipment to calibrate, maintain, upgrade and commission new machinery. You’ll be part of a skilled, focused team operating in a laboratory (rather than shop floor) environment.
Your CV will show your:
- Qualifications in Manufacturing or Engineering, for instance an NVQ level 3, A-levels or equivalent.
- Demonstrable expertise maintaining, or building, equipment for semi-automated manufacture of small scale devices, rather than large industrial plant machinery. This will include computer-controlled, pneumatic and/or electrically actuated machines for precision use.
- Confidence taking a “hands on” approach, using hand tools, disassembling and reassembling working machines with precision mechanical and electronic components.
- Basic metalworking skills for wear-and-tear maintenance (mark and cut, threading, filing, joining, welds).
- Computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office and similar programs, for instance for project management and reporting.
- Motivation, resourcefulness, and good collaboration and communication skills.
Any additional experience with electrical, electronic or optical equipment, robotic arms and/or computer vision systems is welcome. Stock control, purchase order and ERP experience is also helpful.
This is a permanent, full time role based in a laboratory environment on green campus-style grounds close to Cambridge.
