IP Manager (26889)
A growing MEMS technology company based in Cambridge, seeks a specialist with a technical background and extensive knowledge of the patenting process to manage their evolving IP portfolio.
Naturally, you would be responsible for filing patents for the company, but you would also play an important role in assisting their scientists and engineers identify patentable ideas and defining the patentable concepts. This could include holding brainstorming sessions to generate patentable ideas; reviewing engineers’ innovation records; carrying out prior art searches; and of course, liaising with Patent Attorneys to draft, finalise and file the patents. You will also play an important role in defining the IP strategy for the company.
A good background in a scientific or engineering subject will be required as you will be expected to understand the concepts and implications of the company’s technology advancements.
You will need:
- An excellent degree in scientific or engineering focussed subject.
- Good knowledge and understanding of IP, writing patents and the patent process.
- Previous significant involvement in IP portfolio maintenance and strategy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Full rights to work in the UK without time limit or sponsorship.
Highly desirable skills include knowledge or experience in the fields of MEMS, nanotechnology or semiconductors.
