Product Design Engineer - Instrumentation (26905)
This is an opportunity to significantly contribute to all stages in product development. This position will require a diverse set of skills such as modelling, ion optics, mechanical design and an understanding of the practicalities of vacuum systems.
You will have an excellent technical degree from a world-leading university providing you with a solid grounding in physics. You will also possess an in depth understanding of analytical instrumentation, not just from a user perspective but including the mechanisms and theory behind the technology.
Some of the skills you will strengthen in performing this role include:
- Modelling of ion optics (Simion, Amaze)
- Physical modelling, CFD experience (OpenFOAM, COMSOL, ANSYS)
- Mechanical CAD skills (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Ability to automate the analytical process with Python, LabVIEW and/or Lua
- Enhanced client facing skills and driving external projects
Based outside the M25 in Surrey, this company offers an excellent opportunity to work in the following technologies: ion optics, vacuum systems, atmospheric / electrospray ionisation and mass spectrometer systems. Experience of these technologies is extremely beneficial enabling you to assist in product development.
