Scientific Team Lead (26937)
A team designing and developing devices used in high energy density physics experiments is seeking a team leader to provide strategic vision and clarity as well as technical knowhow and guidance. You will use both your expertise in high energy density or shock physics and in technical team leadership to support a talented group of scientists and engineers as you work on unsolved problems at the edge of scientific understanding.
Your background will be in physics, educated to PhD level, with extensive experience working with applied mathematical simulations in the realms of plasma physics, shock physics, or high energy density physics. This will likely have involved using heavily customised commercial simulation software or fully bespoke solvers and you should be comfortable using this type of software. You may currently be in a team leading role or in a technical role looking to transition into leadership. Further expertise in advanced optimisation techniques and numerical methods for hydrodynamic solvers is highly valued.
This team do not expect you to have the exact skills and knowledge required to immediately contribute to their work, but you must have closely related understandings and an eagerness to study and master relevant areas of physics.
This company has huge ambitions for their technologies in the clean energy sector and your role and the team you will be leading are crucial to overall success. Alongside the salary, generous pension and share option schemes are on offer, plus flexible working conditions and relocation support for qualifying candidates.
