PhD Embedded Software Engineer (27018)

This is a role that calls for very strong practical embedded engineering skills, a rock-solid grasp of engineering fundamentals, a love of tackling fresh challenges, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of people. You will have a high degree of autonomy, and as your skillset grows, the company’s flexible structure will allow you to find your own areas of interest, establishing yourself as an expert in that specialism.

You will need:

• A history of stellar academic success, with top pre-university grades followed by a 1st or 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or closely related subject, and topped-off with a PhD in a relevant subject area.
• Demonstrably excellent coding skills C and C++, including a good grasp subject areas such as pointers and memory access, threading, and the standard template library.
• A good understanding of embedded systems development; how to write compact, efficient code for resource-constrained systems, test, and debug it.
• Strong communications skills; you’ll be confident discussing complex ideas with clients and colleagues from a variety of backgrounds and with varying levels of technical expertise.
