Software Developer - HPC simulation (27035)
This company develops its own simulation software in areas such as continuum mechanics and multi-physics in order to model the behaviour of materials under conditions that aren’t achievable experimentally. Projects can relate to a variety of industry sectors, but typically a substantial portion will be within the aerospace sector.
Interviewing now for 2024, they are seeking mathematically-minded graduates and PhDs with strong coding skills and an interest in finite-element, finite difference, smoothed particle hydrodynamics, and related techniques.
You will need:
- An excellent numerate academic background in a subject such as numerical physics or applied mathematics, with mostly A*s at A-level (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable hands-on C++ (or maybe Fortran) coding skills and ability to develop code under and for the Linux operating system.
- You must have British nationality due to the need to obtain a security clearance.
- Ideally, previous experience developing physics-based mathematical modelling software for materials behaviour. Experience managing HPC infrastructure would be a bonus.
This is an excellent opportunity to join the team at this small and innovative company working at the cutting edge of technology.
