Power Systems Design Lead (27046)
This group lead position will suit a candidate with an engineering background, advanced multi-physics and EM simulation skills, and specialist knowledge of pulsed power systems, ideally including high-voltage systems, accelerators and/or shock physics. This work is at the leading edge of load design for systems using HV pulsed power to accelerate payloads.
Your role will be to take a strategic view of load design and development approaches, and manage and hire into a growing team. You will also take the lead in the group's hands-on analytical design and simulation work.
Your CV will clearly show your:
- Degree in engineering or a relevant physical science, or equivalent experience, and potentially a relevant PhD.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant physics and electrical engineering concerns, along with pulsed power, high voltage systems, accelerator systems, and/or shock physics. Beyond pure research, you will have applied these skills in challenging engineering projects.
- Knowledge of relevant software, to include electromagnetic simulation tools, and multi-physics simulation tools.
- Prior group leadership experience in a related area in a scientific or engineering context.
