Providing mathematical tool expertise to clients modelling complex scenarios

Global energy trading entails enormous value and complexity. This growing company have developed advanced mathematical tools which allow these intricate scenarios to be modelled and optimised.

In this role, you would become expert in this software’s functioning and capabilities, and use this knowledge to help clients get the best value from the product. This could involve providing training, fielding technical queries, discussing requested features with clients, or developing reference materials. Your involvement with modelling real-world scenarios will allow you to feed back invaluable insights to the product development team.

As your career develops, the role could broaden to involve aspects of business development, project or product management, with you contributing to the technology development roadmap.

You will need:

  • A strong academic background: a 1st or 2.1 degree in mathematics, or similarly numerate subject from a leading university, together with excellent supporting A-level (or equivalent) grades.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, happy to have in-depth technical discussions with clients and peers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ability to propose and test hypotheses, and work systematically to identify root issues amongst the details of intricate models
  • Full, existing, and unrestricted right to work in the UK
