Mechanical Engineer (27180)
Our client designs, develops, and manufactures cutting edge technologies at scale that have uses in multiple industries. These products rely on precision engineering and innovative electronic control systems to provide features and functionality not found anywhere else. But precision engineering is not sufficient if the designs cannot be manufactured and tested to the same level of accuracy. In this role you will be developing the equipment required to do this at volume.
You will be working collaboratively with other manufacturing engineers as well as engineers specialising in product design, control theory, and electronics to ensure every aspect of a design is considered. This extends to working with manufacturing partners in Asia and America, so good technical communication skills are important. You will be responsible for planning and prioritising your own work and with multiple product pipelines, you will often find yourself working on multiple tasks in parallel.
Suitable candidates will have:
- A good degree (1st or 2:1) in Mechanical Engineering or similar from a top university (Russell Group or similar) with a good understanding of mechanical fundamentals along with some knowledge of mechatronics and electronics
- Practical experience building jigs, fixtures and other test and manufacturing equipment
- Proficiency with 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks)
- Full and unrestricted rights to work in the UK
While not strictly required, experience designing to the micron scale will be highly valued.
