Technical Business Development - MedTech (27185)

Cambridge
to £100,000 DoE + benefits

Ideal for engineers / consultants, ready to move into business development

If you are an engineer who enjoys interacting with clients and exceeding their expectations, you may want to consider moving into a role that leans heavily on your technical knowledge and insight to build strong and profitable relationships. This opportunity would support you as you enter the realm of business development, establishing a fulfilling and exciting new chapter in your career.

Working with industry leading device companies, be they well-known multinationals or growing start-ups, your skills will allow you to identify new opportunities, understand difficult business and technical problems, create solutions, and draw on teams of talented engineers and scientists to help. You will play a key role in the proposal and planning of new projects and may also lead some of the work. Above all, you will be curious and enthusiastic about the benefits new technology can bring to the lives of others, and enjoy working with others to create successful solutions to real-world challenges.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • An established background in commercial product development or technical consultancy, ideally in the MedTech sector
  • A good degree (2.1 or higher) in engineering or similar technical subject, from a leading university, supported by and strong A-levels grades
  • The drive to identify and contact potential new clients, and the ability to develop the contacts into solid relationships. Previous experience in business development is not necessary, but your application should be supported with evidence of why you would flourish in this role
  • Flexibility to balance technical project work/leadership with business development work
  • Full existing rights to work in the UK without time limit

The position will be based onsite in our client’s modern Cambridge offices, to allow for better collaboration with engineering teams. Some travel to clients’ sites and active attendance at conferences will be necessary, but this will be well-planned in advance.

A generous renumeration package is on offer, along with a supportive environment which makes continued career development a priority.
