Senior Electronics Engineer (27188)
This small team are developing electronics systems for high power applications such as electricity transmission and renewable energy generation. Their products combine cutting edge power electronic architectures, digital control circuitry, and software to provide efficient, highly reliable, and cost-effective high voltage systems.
This is a good opportunity for anyone looking for variety in their work. You can be working on a PCB layout one morning and programming an FPGA that afternoon. Circuit design (analogue and digital), microcontroller programming, and benchtop testing can all also feature in a typical work week. This variety does come with challenges and a good candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to self-organise and manage priorities.
Requirements:
- A degree in Electronics Engineering or similar
- Extensive commercial experience with analogue and digital circuit design and PCB layout using Altium Designer
- Knowledge of FPGA design using Verilog or VHDL
- Good programming knowledge for microcontrollers ranging from bare-metal and RTOS through to embedded Linux
- Practical experience conducting lab-based benchtop tests and managing external EMC and environmental testing
This team has a true hybrid work pattern where much good work is carried out remotely, but the value of face-to-face time is recognised, and lab-based work is necessary. This typically works out as a 2-3 day split between home and office but varies depending on project requirements. Additionally, occasional travel to Europe for certain projects is needed.
Unfortunately, applications from candidates who require sponsorship or whose visas are time limited cannot be accepted.
