18 months fixed term contract for industrial research in hardware security

Are you a PhD / Postdoc or experienced industrial researcher? Are you keen to work on cutting edge technology projects around security architecture? This dedicated team based in Bristol are the research arm for a multinational technology company. They are part of a wider group of researchers who design, develop and prototype new security-based innovations around endpoint devices.

This 18 months fixed term contract (FTC) is to work on hardware-firmware prototypes to ensure security properties are met. This will include working on novel security architecture and implementing advanced security technologies. Responsibilities of the role will include: de-risking new concepts and building optimised prototypes; documenting projects and designs; and validating projects with end-users / business users.

Interested?

  • 1st / 2.1 degree in computer science (or similar) and relevant advanced degree (PhD or Master’s).
  • Doctoral, post-doc or industry experience working on hardware architecture including a range of firmware technologies (x86, ARM, DMA, PCIe, UEFI).
  • Strong hands-on experience (embedded C / C++) including understanding of engineering mindset.
  • Experience / interest in endpoint security.
  • Strong communication skills.

The role would be based onsite as projects will involve hardware. Applicants must therefore be living in Bristol (or willing to relocate) or living close by so can commute daily to their offices.
