Full-stack Software Engineer (27215)

Coming out of stealth mode, this dynamic, growing start-up are hiring across the board and are keen to recruit a Full-stack Software Engineer to join their team. Their mission is to tackle problems around the automation of medical therapies manufacture. Their goal is to enable large scale production of therapies at a lower cost.

The Full-stack Software Engineer will be part of the software team but work with mechanical and electronics engineers and scientists on robotic automation. Your role would be to implement new features, translate user stories into code and maintain software quality through agile processes (including TDD and pair programming).

Requirements

  • Having graduated with a STEM degree (ideally computer science, engineering, physics or maths), you’ll have also gained industry experience developing commercial software products and have gone through the whole product development process.
  • You’ll have frontend and backend development experience using modern tools and frameworks including React-native, Angular, Flask, Django, databases and FastAPI. You’ll ideally also have developed software that interfaces with hardware and be familiar with TCP/IP, UART, CAN and other comms protocols.
  • You’ll understand OOP approaches for modern software design and have familiarity about mixed desktop / enterprise applications as well as cloud native services via RESTful APIs.
  • You can demonstrate project experience with SaaS systems (RESTful services, microservices) and integration with the cloud.
  • Additional familiarity with MQTT / RabbitMQ / Redis / Kafka would be beneficial.

Interested applicants should be able to demonstrate a wide range of project experience using most (if not all of) the following: Python, Java, C# or modern C++; and have knowledge of devops tools including containerisation.

Due to overall project goals and the culture of the company, this role is onsite (ad hoc, occasional home-working may be possible but not on a regular occurrence). The company is well-funded and is well-placed to achieve their initial milestones. Compensation includes a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits (from enhanced pension to health insurance).
