Information Security Analyst (27250)
Develop your skillset into information security analysis. With training included, this analyst role combines aspects of project management, collaboration, critical thinking and technical writing. It would suit a technically-minded graduate, either recent or experienced, interested in information security and looking to embark on a new career.
You’ll be someone who:
- Has a good degree, ideally in computing or information security – other systematic subjects such as STEM, law and medicine will be considered – and you’ll have an interest in the software industry, data, or cybersecurity
- Has interest (and potentially experience) getting involved in logical systems which help ensure good practice through sensible formal documented processes, realistic reporting and practical metrics
- Is excited to learn, and able to absorb a lot of detailed information on a new subject
- Is very detail-oriented and self-motivated, with an analytical mind and excellent organisational and communication skills, including precise writing
You may have some experience of the software industry, perhaps through software testing or internships. Ideally you may be familiar with some form of formal standards or regulations already – whether ISO, BSI, IETF, W3C, GDPR or other legislation or SOPs.
As the risks associated with cyberattacks and data breaches rise, information security has become critical for many businesses. You’ll become an expert in ISO 27001, with training leading to a professional qualification you can build on throughout your career.
