Open Source Graphics Developer (27258)

UK, Fully Remote
to £75k DoE + benefits

Developing graphic drivers and tools for the Open Source community

In this remote role you will be involved in developing next generation graphics capabilities for Open Source software.

Joining a distributed community of dedicated open source developers, you will work on aspects such as kernel drivers, graphics APIs, and display servers. Activities will cover the full software development lifecycle, including liaising with customers to determine requirements and understand issues, contributing to the development of 3D graphics code, developing GPU compilers, performance profiling and optimisation, and optionally taking on some leadership responsibilities.

Whilst this is a remote role, occasional attendance at the Cambridge office may be needed and so you will need to be located in the UK and have fully UK work permission without time restriction or the need for sponsorship.

Essential:

  • A 1st or 2.1 degree in a relevant STEM subject (such as Computer Science, Maths etc.) from a well-respected university along with top grades at A-level (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience of collaborating on non-trivial Open Source development projects – i.e. making substantial code submissions
  • Expertise in OpenGL and/or Vulkan APIs
  • Excellent software engineering skills developing for Linux in C or C++

This is a rare opportunity to join a company offering the flexibility to work from home at a UK location of your own choosing, and the satisfaction of working on Open-Source projects. The role offers a highly competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
