Creating impactful new algorithms in C++

Do you like inventing new algorithms to solve challenging problems? Do you enjoy a mathematical approach to software development? Do you have good core C++ skills? Then this might be the job for you!

This team are continually investigating and implementing novel methods to solve real world problems in electronics design. They are encouraged to try new ideas and experiment but need to keep an eye on commercialising these new techniques. Ultimately, the work carried out by this group has significant impacts on companies around the globe.

Your mathematical skills will need to be matched by your understanding of C++ as you will need to demonstrate your new algorithms can be implemented efficiently. So, core knowledge of the language and the STL is crucial, especially as they relate to performance.

You will need:

  • A Master’s or PhD in a relevant subject backed by a 1st or 2:1 in a STEM subject and As or A*s at A Level
  • Strong C++ knowledge used for developing algorithms
  • Full existing rights to work in the UK without time limit or sponsorship
  • Additional knowledge of Verilog or TCL would be beneficial but is not required
