Senior Application Scientist (27338)
This pioneering Cambridge-based instrumentation company develops laboratory equipment that can massively improve the speed and efficiency of research by allow fast and accurate manipulation of fluidic samples at scale. With an established customer base in industry and academia, they are seeking an experienced, practically-minded scientist to help them deliver collaborative cross-disciplinary projects for customers as well as providing input to the evolution of their products.
This varied role will include aspects of leadership and project planning, building and evaluating prototypes, devising testing regimes, troubleshooting issues, and working with colleagues and clients from different specialisms to bring new capabilities to market.
You will need:
- A strong academic background in Bioengineering, Biophysics, Physics or a closely related discipline: a 1st or 2.1 at bachelor’s level from a well-ranked university and either a master’s or PhD
- Substantial commercial product development experience with involvement in areas such as Optics, Microfluidics, Assay Development, or development and testing of hardware or software
- A hands-on approach to prototyping and testing
- Project planning, leadership, and coordination skills
- Full, unrestricted right to work in the UK without time limit or sponsorship
