Graduate Engineer / Applications Engineer (27351)
This company provides specialist modelling software to the oil and gas industry. They are seeking a highly qualified STEM graduate to join their engineering team in providing technical support for their clients. This will involve becoming an expert on the use of their modelling software and the problems their clients experience. You will need to be bright, adaptable and client focused to succeed in this role.
While the focus of the role will be on providing technical support for clients, this can take many forms. There is direct client contact helping them develop solutions to their problems. But there are also long-term data analysis and modelling projects where you are tackling novel challenges which can lead to you working with virtually any team in the company. This part of the job requires perseverance and initiative and is very rewarding.
With such a varied set of challenges, this company highly values the following:
- A 1st in a STEM subject from a highly rated university. Suitable candidates are likely to have studied Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
- Demonstrable client facing skills and a willingness to travel extensively worldwide.
- Some coding skills; Python or MATLAB for data analysis. Additionally, skills in C# or C++ would be beneficial but are not necessary.
This is a tough role requiring you to juggle real-time technical problem solving with R&D projects and even some business development. The remunerations reflect this with a very generous salary for a recent graduate along with performance related bonuses.
